This is an ideal opportunity for doctors with a special interest in palliative medicine offering a full time, fixed term contract. There are two posts available for 6 months. The post will be from 4
thFebruary 2026.About youThis post may be suitable for someone wishing to gain experience in palliative medicine with a view to applying for a higher training scheme in palliative medicine or a related specialty.
The successful applicant will join a team of 3 Consultants and 7 junior doctor colleagues including 2 Speciality Doctors, 2 SpR trainees in Palliative Medicine, 1 IMT trainee, 1 GP trainee and a GPITP trainee. Opportunities for development and career progression will be supported in line with the applicant’s level of training and personal development goals.
Where you'll workSt Joseph’s is a large hospice in Hackney, East London, with an inner-city, ethnically diverse population. St Joseph's Hospice was founded in 1905 by the Religious Sisters of Charity and as such it has a rich, Catholic heritage which informs our work today: to support and welcome those in need, from all different cultures, religions and backgrounds.
We provide high quality specialist palliative care for patients with cancer and other life-threatening conditions across East and North London. We have a large team of clinical staff who work across community, in-patient and out-patient services delivering individualised, responsive and holistic support to patients and their families/carers.
