Member Liaison Coordinators work with all the regions and service groups helping to run industrial ballots and planning strike action, administering internal elections, handling member complaints and making sure we can fully support our members while ensuring our processes stay within the requirements of our rules and the law.
These roles are a good career development opportunity for an organiser or skilled administrator with excellent written and spoken communication skills, where attention to detail is a must. Full training will be given on aspects of the law which cover this work.
You must be able to plan your work so that you can meet competing deadlines required of the union by law. You will not be thrown off course if your priorities have to change during the day.
Your administrative skills will be excellent. You will understand the need to keep accurate records and handle sensitive information. You will have excellent attention to detail. You will be comfortable learning how to use UNISON’s membership system, keeping records, dealing with large volumes of documents and organising electronic files.
You will be confident in using Microsoft software products especially Sharepoint, Excel, Office and Outlook.
You must be able to communicate clearly by telephone. In particular you must be confident, calm and professional in dealing with callers who have a complaint and who may be angry or distressed.
You will be able digest large amounts of written information; and write clear concise emails and letters to a wide audience, including members, senior managers and external bodies
