Since 2001, Step into Learning has been at the heart of Cornwall’s educational landscape, empowering individuals and strengthening communities across Devon and Cornwall. We work alongside our valued partners, including The Outdoor Place, Transferable Skills Training, and Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change, to provide accessible, inclusive education that meets the evolving needs of our community. Through innovative training, transformative projects, and a deep commitment to wellbeing, we are creating opportunities for people to realise their full potential. As part of our exciting future, we are embarking on a journey to develop our own direct provision for young people. Our Step into Hospitality, Step into Catering, and Step into Skills courses are just the beginning of our ambition to create a fully supported internship programme for the next generation of learners. By offering hands-on experiences and vocational pathways, we are committed to helping young people unlock their potential in the world of work. We’re now looking for passionate individuals from Devon and Cornwall to join our Board of Trustees. This is your chance to help us continue our vital work while contributing to the growth and development of a community-driven organisation. Our goal is to become one of the most sustainable businesses in the education sector. We’ve made great strides, achieving ISO 14001 certification, an internationally recognised environmental management standard, which helps us improve our environmental performance. We’ve also earned a Silver Accreditation and are continuing to reduce our environmental impact. What’s Involved? The Trustee role requires a commitment of approximately 4 hours a month, mostly outside of office hours. We hold monthly meetings via MS Teams, ensuring that you can easily fit your role around your schedule. Please note that these positions are voluntary and nonremunerated.
