As part of a leading Assessment Organisation, the product team is responsible for producing a wide range of resources, including PDFs, Excel files, interactive courses, short explainer videos, and other supporting documents, across our apprenticeship standards for our assessors, the apprentices, and the training providers that we work with.
The Product Development Officer will work as part of a growing team to support the development of these resources. This role requires someone with a strong grip on English spelling and grammar, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, it requires someone who has outstanding attention to detail, the ability to learn, and a keen eye for organising information in a consistent manner. A background or knowledge of the education sector would be beneficial but is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and develop resources and assessment materials for new and revised apprenticeship standards, including various multimedia assets such as videos.
  • Utilise design software to create and refine resources including Adobe suite of products.
  • Proofread resources and support materials to ensure consistency and that there are no spelling and grammatical errors, embedding the company style guide.
  • Contribute to the annual review cycle of products.
  • Organise the bank of resources, ensuring they are easily accessible.
  • Contribute to the overall enhancement and ongoing development of the product range.
  • Support processes and practices aligned with internal quality and external regulatory requirements.
  • Develop a range of interactive resources using platforms such as Renderforest and Articulate.

Other Responsibilities

  • Attend, as needed, a range of internal meetings/forums to support the development and review of new or current products.
  • Support regulator reviews of products as needed.
  • Undertake other duties considered within your skills and competencies to assist business needs.

Key Requirements

  • High proficiency in English.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Exceptional proofreading skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Adobe InDesign.
  • Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office 365 products.
  • Working knowledge of video editing software such as Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro.
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills.
  • A track record of working effectively in an environment where attention to detail and consistency is paramount.
  • An ability to communicate with senior colleagues and to work collaboratively to ensure deadlines are met.

  • A degree or equivalent.
  • An awareness of Awarding Organisation/Educational assessing and/or quality assurance processes
  • Experience of working in the education sector
  • Some knowledge of assessment practices and principles
  • Some experience in writing and content production
