Job Description
Have you worked with people who have a learning disability? Could you help to lead a team?
This is a great opportunity to support the Manager in leading and developing the hubs at Queens Park and Swanick. The role will involve mentoring staff, supporting community engagement and development and innovation within the hub. There will be a big emphasis on bringing our hubs together and leading on activity planning and implementation for the area.
Our lifelong learning provision offers a variety of activities and opportunities for adults with a learning disability and/ or autism to gain new skills, have new experiences and develop their independence.
We offer a broad curriculum of learning to the people we support, delivered in a wide range of vocational, work and community settings. Activities include supported employment, independent living skills, They will be supporting learners with activities such as swimming, bowling. gardening, arts and crafts, walking groups and trips the list is endless!
The support that we provide through our lifelong learning programmes is focused on delivering positive outcomes to the people we support. Our ultimate goal is to ensure each person has a seamless transition between their support at home and their daytime activities, facilitating the use of skills gained from each setting. Whether it’s by improving communication, maximising independence, encouraging participation or developing relationships, the support we provide is centred around celebrating each individual’s talents and contributions.
About you
You will need experience working with people who have a learning disability or complex needs. Perhaps you've been a care assistant or support worker? If you have the right experience, and you share our values, are warm, friendly and willing to learn, you’re likely to be a great fit.
We’re looking for people who celebrate differences, and we strive to make all our staff feel included, valued and respected.
You must be a driver with a manual licence, as you will be driving service mobility vehicles.
