Are you ready to take the lead in shaping the future of our employment services? We’re looking for a dynamic and driven Supply Chain Lead to join our team in this role that’s all about impact, innovation, and collaboration.
As our Supply Chain Lead, you’ll be at the heart of managing a network of subcontractors delivering employment contracts. Your mission? To ensure our partners deliver exceptional service to our customers and consistently meet key performance indicators.
You’ll be the go-to person for quality assurance, performance management, and strategic supply chain development making a real difference in people’s lives through effective partnerships.
We’re seeking someone who thrives in a fast-paced, target-driven environment and has proven experience in supply chain management or contract delivery.  Has strong planning and organisational skills and is confidence to challenge underperformance and drive improvement.

Location: This is a remote delivery role

Hours: 37 hours a week. Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5pm, Friday 8.30 am to 4.30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the delivery by subcontractors in accordance with relevant delivery plans, frameworks and industry standards, ensuring that subcontractors remain compliant and exceed their key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Through an effective performance management approach of ‘Challenge’ and ‘Support’, and by working closely with the management team and other internal support functions e.g. Quality, Compliance, Commercial and Finance etc. ensure sub-contractors can successfully deliver all aspects of their contract.
  • Frequent travel throughout the area to conduct regular contract review meetings with designated subcontractors in accordance with the Supply Chain Management Framework and Performance Management Framework; interpreting contract performance data to ensure subcontractors are performing as agreed.
  • Where appropriate, take mitigating actions, including initiating the Performance Improvement process, supporting the management team to identify suitable partnerships and subcontracting arrangements to manage any gaps in delivery.
  • Benchmark the performance of subcontractors with the aim of ensuring continued value for money and continuous improvement in performance and business practices.
  • Create and agree operational delivery plans with the management team, in respect of designated subcontractors and maintain the plans as appropriate; support sub-contractors in identifying any capability gaps and support the subcontractor in establishing goals and appropriate strategies to fill the gaps.
  • Maintain transparent and clear communication and ensure key issues and actions from subcontractor meetings are documented and shared with relevant colleagues.
  • Encourage subcontractors to commit to a practice of continuous improvement and the sharing of best practice among the network of Providers; to take responsibility for supporting the management team and other colleagues to drive continuous improvement across the contract and wider business.
  • Seek innovative solutions, presenting business cases and working alongside colleagues and subcontractors, to develop the evidence base for new and improved approaches to delivery.
  • Build an understanding of the area’s current and future needs and priorities regarding the contract and use such understanding to inform and influence the development of an effective network of subcontractors to deliver appropriate services.
  • Build effective and productive relationships with sub-contractors based on three key factors for success: mutual trust and understanding, openness and excellent communications, and a joint approach to managing delivery.
  • Establish a collaborative working environment among all stakeholders to facilitate partnership working and high levels of motivation, innovation and communication.
  • Ensure that subcontractors have the requisite policies and processes in place (e.g. Safeguarding, Prevent, Equality & Diversity, Health & Safety etc).

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Experience of managing supply chains.
  • Experience of target focused performance management, quality assurance techniques and their application.
  • Experience of delivering in a high-performance target driven culture.
  • Fully IT literate in using a range of Microsoft Office programmes to include 365 products and modern digital technologies, i.e. Microsoft Teams.
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths at Grade C or above.
  • Experience of delivering services to meet contractual and quality standards.

Desirable

  • CIPS qualified.
  • Knowledge of the employability industry.
  • Understanding of ‘Risk Management’ processes.
  • Understanding of applying Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of the local labour market and challenges of the job market.
  • Full driving licence to enable deployment across a specified geographical area.
