R ECRUITMENT PACK LIVE THE HISTORY. CREATE THE FUTURE. Education Coordinator Maternity Cover Job Description | October 2025 About UJIA UJIA is dedicated to ensuring that young Jewish people in the UK forge a personal relationship with Israel, so that they have a strong sense of belonging to the Jewish people. Our work is organised into three pillars: 1. Empowering Young People educational settings that are instrumental in strengthening a relationship with Israel. Beyond initial connection, we emphasise the importance of expressing and deepening this bond with Israel through support for initiatives aimed at combating inequality and enhancing social mobility within Israel’s most disadvantaged communities. Our efforts ensure that young people and their families in the UK are not only connected to Israel but are also active participants in its progress and development. 2. Experiencing Israel 7th October and Deepening Israel Connections 3. Deepening Israel Connections We are dedicated to empowering young Jews by removing barriers to help them form strong connections with Israel and by cultivating future leaders who can inspire their peers. We do this through developing a thriving informal Jewish education sector with the Youth Movements and the Union of Jewish Students. We have decades of experience in sending young Jews in the UK to Israel on rite of passage programmes, such as Israel Tour, Gap Years and Birthright Israel. These Israel experiences offer firsthand encounters, peer connections, and UJIA’s day-to-day work in Israel radically changed after 7th October, even as we continued with our existing work. Our team in Israel immediately addressed the urgent financial needs of survivors and then began supporting thousands of evacuated families with food and hygiene supplies. UJIA worked with local partners to establish temporary daycare facilities, pop-up schools, and playrooms for thousands of evacuees. All of this is in addition to the thousands of hours of trauma therapy our support has made possible for those who experienced the atrocities of 7th October. Now our work has shifted to helping communities in the South recover and rebuild, and helping the tens of thousands of men, women and children from Israel’s northern border who are still evacuated from their homes. This work is all on top of our regular, ongoing work with partners across Israel that are working with Israel’s most vulnerable every day. 2 RECRUITMENT PACK United Jewish Israel Appeal is a registered charity no. 1060078 (England & Wales) and SC 039181 (Scotland).Foreword from our CEO Thank you for your interest in joining our professional team at UJIA as Education Coordinator.
