Education Volunteers for Immersive Educational Workshops for Schools

Where do we need you?
Hampshire Cultural Trust needs volunteers at our following locations:
- Andover Museum - Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays
- Gosport Museum - Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
- The Great Hall, Winchester - Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Aldershot Military Museum - Thursdays and Fridays
What is the ask?
We are looking for people who have availability between 9am-3pm on weekdays. We have morning and afternoon sessions available, and we would be happy for you to do mornings, afternoons, or all day. We aim to be as flexible as possible, but we would expect a commitment to the session that you choose, to enable us to run our workshops.
What about you?
- We are looking for enthusiastic people who enjoy working with children
- You should feel comfortable being in character (not acting per se) and wearing a period costume
- Able to commit to sessions
- Have previous experience working with children
What would you be doing?
- You would be supporting the learning facilitator in running immersive educational workshops
- Support school staff and teachers around the museum to find their way or to find out more about objects and such like
- Help to clean the lunchrooms between sittings
- Help to set up self-led activities
- Dressing up in costume that we at HCT will provide
What will you get from this role?

When do we need you?
Our first school sessions have just started so as soon as you can come on board.
Qualifications
- No qualifications needed but desirable
- History, Childcare, Science, Drama qualifications all very welcome
Essential Skills
- Experience working with children previously or have a desire to work with them in future (i.e. teacher training, Learning support assistant)
- Approachable
- Good at listening
Desirable Skills
- Acting experience
