The social media officer sits within Alzheimer’s Research UK's Digital department. The primary purpose of the job is to engage and motivate supporters, raise awareness of dementia and dementia research, and promote Alzheimer’s Research UK's campaigns, fundraising efforts, health information, and research initiatives. This is an important role, helping to drive Alzheimer's Research UK’s online presence, engagement, and impact, while staying at the forefront of digital trends and technologies. The role is an exciting and fast-moving one, ideally suited to someone skilled in content creation, strategy, relationship building, analytics and innovation, to effectively communicate the charity’s mission and engage supporters. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Social Media Content Strategy Execution Support on the development and execution of a comprehensive social media content strategy, aligned with Alzheimer’s Research UK’s mission and goals. Content planning and Scheduling Working alongside the rest of the social media team to plan content within our management platform ‘Sprout Social’ and ensure we are maximising opportunities across our socials such as Meta, X, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube. Identify optimal posting times and frequency to maximise audience engagement and reach. The role of the Direct Marketing Executive is a varied one. Working with different teams and suppliers, you will be supporting and delivering direct marketing campaigns across a range of media channels. The acquisition programme is an evolving one and there is change and growth happening in a lot of interesting areas at a fast pace. As well as running day-to-day activities, the post holder will be responsible for supporting the wider acquisition team by ensuring data and supporter engagement processes are running smoothly across campaigns. Alongside this, they will ensure compliance and adherence to the most recent regulations and codes of practice is top of the agenda. We are looking for someone who is outgoing and enthusiastic to join our Supporter Care team, who will carry out essential supporter engagement and administrative activities associated with marketing campaigns, donations, fundraising events and requests for materials. With previous experience of providing excellent customer service, you will have the ability and confidence to communicate with a variety of people, engaging with supporters by phone, email and in writing about a wide range of enquiries. The Supporter Care team at Alzheimer’s Research UK is often the first point of contact in the charity for supporters, potential donors and members of the public. The Supporter Care Administrator works alongside five other team Executives handling supporter enquiries, processing donations, and thanking supporters to ensure an excellent standard of customer care and to generate the maximum amount of income for dementia research. The Senior Research Grants Officer will work in collaboration with the Research Funding team to deliver charity’s grant-making activities across the full funding lifecycle to ensure that our funding is administered responsibly, efficiently, and in a way that maximises impact for people affected by dementia. This role sits within the Research Directorate, building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues across Finance and Fundraising. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Grant Management Work closely with the Research Grants Manager in delivering the full lifecycle of ARUK's research funding schemes, from launch to funding decisions. Collaborate with the research community to ensure tailored advice is given to applicants, assessors, and committee members on ARUK’s funding schemes, eligibility, scientific fit, grant application processes and policies. Conduct due diligence on grant applications for completeness and scientific relevance; ensure accurate processing through the Grants Management System. Prepare high-quality documentation for review panels, including contributing to meeting paperwork, minutes and feedback.
