Team Bath AS, based in Bath, is seeking a Lead Coach to join our team.

J ob Description – Key Responsibilities :

Deliver engaging, progressive training sessions across a range of squads in line with Swim England standards and the club’s coaching ethos.
Support session planning, swimmer progression, and movement between squads, working collaboratively with the Head Coach.
Assist at local and national competitions, providing on-deck support and technical feedback.
Maintain accurate records of swimmer progress and attendance.
Contribute to a unified, “one club” approach by engaging with the Committee, parents, and volunteers in a supportive and professional manner.
Comply with all safeguarding, health & safety, and equality policies, ensuring swimmer welfare at all times.
Flexibility to take on additional duties as required by the club.
To provide feedback on a swimmer’s progress to the Head of Swimming or other coaches.
To support our poolside workforce
To be an ambassador and role model for the club
Follow Health & Safety Procedures, Wavepower, the Code of Conduct for Coaches and Team Bath AS club policies
Be aware of and understand the pool’s Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and Normal Operating Procedures (NOP), plus risk assessments, and provide timely and comprehensive accident/incident reporting
To represent the club as Swimming Coach at licensed meets, club competitions, and other events as appropriate
Undertake suitable continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities to update skills and knowledge on a regular basis

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate or ASA/UKCC Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Swimming.
Experience delivering structured training to young swimmers of varying abilities.
Understanding of competitive swimming and the swimmer development pathway.
Strong organisational skills, including planning and time management.
Familiarity with Wavepower and Swim England best practices.
Current Safeguarding and Protecting Children certificate, a Swim England Safeguarding certificate or a Swim England Safeguarding in Aquatics certificate.

The club can provide information and funding for the 3-hour Swim England course.

Desirable:

Experience coaching at open meets or licensed competitions.
Experience supporting swimmers with additional needs.
