e Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the vibrant Fundraising and Development team at Bancroft’s
School. As the Fundraising and Alumni Assistant, you will be at the heart of building and nurturing a
strong, connected Bancroft’s community—especially among alumni, donors and friends of the school
as well as contributing directly to the School’s mission of changing lives through education and
opportunity.

The Fundraising and Development Department at Bancroft's School comprises the Director of
Fundraising and Development, Data and Development Officer and Fundraising and Alumni Assistant.
They oversee the Bancroft's Foundation, alumni and community engagement, donor relations, and
fundraising initiatives including events; playing a key role in advancing the School’s philanthropic and
community goals.

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and Development, you will play a key role in planning and
delivering events, managing and disseminating communications and supporting fundraising efforts.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, getting involved in details
and making things happen.

By supporting fundraising campaigns and donor engagement, you will help grow the impact of the
Bancroft’s Foundation which provides transformational bursaries and widens access to a Bancroft’s
education for talented young people regardless of their background.

Purpose of the Role:

To strengthen relationships across the Bancroft’s community—especially alumni and potential
donors—through engaging events, thoughtful communications, and proactive logistical support. This
role blends relationship-building with practical execution and requires someone who is both people-
focused and detail-oriented.

e Role

Working Hours:

The post is full time, 52 weeks per year. The working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to
Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm, with 30 minutes unpaid lunch. The role will be office-based during term
time, with flexibility for occasional remote work during the 18 weeks of the school holidays. Four
days a week will be considered. Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required for events.

Annual leave

Holidays for a full-time member of staff are 27 days per year, as well as 8 Bank Holidays, to be taken
during the school holidays, unless otherwise agreed by the Director of Fundraising and
Development.

Remuneration

The salary range for the full-time role is £32,000 - £34,000, based upon experience. See below for

Key Responsibilities

Below is a summary of the key responsibilities of the Fundraising and
Alumni Assistant.

Community Engagement:

•  Act as a warm and welcoming first point of contact for alumni, donors, and other members of

the Bancroft’s community.

•  Help foster a sense of belonging and pride among alumni and supporters by building long-term

relationships and encouraging involvement.

•  Support the Director of Fundraising and Development in identifying and cultivating potential

donors and volunteers.

•  Research and write alumni stories, donor profiles, and community spotlights to share across

newsletters and social media.

•  Where appropriate, and under guidance, support the cultivation of entry-level donations by

making initial approaches to potential donors and subsequently maintain ongoing engagement.

Event Planning and Delivery:

•  Plan, organise, and deliver a wide range of events—from reunions and donor receptions to

career talks and networking evenings.

•  Be a “runner” on the day: setting up rooms, greeting guests, managing logistics, and staying on

top of the details to ensure everything runs smoothly.

•  Coordinate venues, catering, AV, signage, and materials—both on and off site.
•  Prepare guest lists, name tags, table plans, and event packs using Excel, Word and Canva.
•  Support post-event follow-up, feedback collection, and evaluation.

Communications and Content:

•  Draft and send newsletters, invitations and updates using Word, Raiser’s Edge, LinkedIn,

Facebook, Instagram and Canva.

•  Manage alumni social media channels in collaboration with the Marketing team.

Key Responsibilities

•  Create visual content for events and campaigns using Canva.
•  Maintain consistent, engaging communication with the Bancroft’s community.

Database and Administration Support:

•  Help to maintain accurate records of contacts, event attendance, and communications using the

CRM (e.g. Raiser’s Edge or similar).

•  Support donation processing and Gift Aid claims in collaboration with the Development and

Finance teams.

•  Use Excel and Raiser’s Edge to manage data, track engagement, and generate reports.

Education

Educated to degree level or equivalent industry
experience

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in:

•  event planning, logistics, or community

engagement.

Experience

Experience in marketing, PR and sales also considered.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (e.g.
formatting, mail merges, spreadsheets).

Excellent communication skills—both written and
verbal.

Experience using CRM
systems such as Raiser’s Edge.

Skills

Highly organised with strong attention to detail.

Ability to remain calm under pressure

Familiarity with CRM, social
media and design platforms
such as Canva, Mailchimp,
Instagram and LinkedIn
