Based in the heart of Cambridge, St Catharine’s College is looking to appoint a Housekeeping Assistant, to join our busy, friendly Housekeeping team, providing a first class service for our college community. We welcome applications from individuals who may wish to work either full time (37.5 hours per week) or part time (min 22 hours per week).
It is an exciting time for our College following the completion of our ‘Central Spaces’ project which includes a new multi-million-pound kitchen, dining facilities, meeting rooms and other spaces such as an on-site gym.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- An ability or aptitude to clean and service college rooms using agreed methods and procedures: ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is achieved and maintained at all times.
- Good communication skills are essential as the nature of the role is customer facing and will involve contact with students, Fellows, visitors, conference guests and work colleagues.
- Be able to manage their own workload and work to deadlines which is particularly important during busy conference periods when our award winning B&B serviceis in place.
Working arrangements and salary
- Full time hours are 37.5 per week / pro rata for part time employees (which may include occasional weekends).
- Competitive annual salary of £25,408.35 (£12.98 per hour) per year / pro rata for part time.
- Team members may be deployed to work across any College property (within the city of Cambridge), depending on the needs of the department.
