Princess Alice Hospice is a charity supporting people in life, death and grief. We’re dedicated to working closely with individuals, communities and organisations in the London Boroughs of Kingston and Richmond and large parts of Surrey, to ensure more people receive the support they need.
Is care at your core? It is at ours. Here at Princess Alice Hospice, you’ll have the opportunity to make a satisfying, rewarding difference to the lives of our patients, their families and friends, and be supported every step of the way. We support our clinical staff to be the difference in these precious days. You’ll be part of a great team of experienced professionals to learn from and learn with, delivering care you can take pride in.
About the role:
We are looking for dedicated Healthcare assistants to join our In-Patient Unit. Working alongside other members of the Hospice multi-professional team, you will take pride in delivering care of an extremely high standard with a ‘can do’ attitude. You will be fully supported, whilst gaining essential knowledge and skills in palliative care, plus you will have the opportunity to gain an extensive range of generic nursing skills.
We offer a premium rate for any work during unsocial hours e.g. nights and weekends. Lower rate enhancement is payable at the rate of hourly rate ‘plus one third’ for hours worked between 8pm and 8am, Monday to Friday, and all-day Saturday. Higher rate enhancement is payable at the rate of hourly rate ‘plus two thirds’ for any hours worked at any time on a Sunday or public holiday.
About you:
You will possess a good standard of general education and ideally have some experience of delivering hands on care, preferably on a ward, in the community or care home.
If you are enthusiastic, flexible and share our values, and if you care about making a difference in the last years of someone’s life, we would love to hear from you!
As well as joining an organisation where you will be able to make a difference to our patients and their families, we offer a range of great benefits, which include:
-
27 days’ annual leave, plus recognised public holidays – rising to 29 days after 5 years’ service and 33 days after 10 years’ service (pro rata for part time)
-
educational and professional development opportunities (we have an on-site Education Team)
-
clinical supervision (regular and we ensure its protected time)
-
free on-site parking
-
subsidised meals at our on-site restaurant
-
Employee Assistance Programme
-
access to Blue Light Card discount card
-
access to our Group Pension Scheme (with the option to continue on your current NHS Pension Scheme)
-

-
wellbeing - we provide a programme of activities, opportunities and guidance to inspire and support our employees to live a healthy life, at home and at work.
