This is an exciting opportunity to lead four churches together into the next season of their ministries. The churches of the North Wakefield benefice are keen to work together to serve their local communities. We are seeking an experienced priest who will be a spiritual leader, filled with the Holy Spirit and who will help the congregations to develop their faith, and lead in mission and outreach in the communities. The successful candidate will have a track record of leadership in a complex environment, will love to nurture and equip others and grow the confidence and gifts of God’s people. The new priest will be confident in sustaining the different traditions of the churches, while understanding that all of the churches are open to the possibility of change. There will be a need for the new vicar to focus on:
growing the congregations, spiritually, numerically, and in generosity,
reaching out to the communities in mission and evangelism, especially to schools and to families,
growing take up of occasional offices, and follow up from these,
being a unifying presence across the benefice,
engaging and energising the congregations, developing and empowering lay leaders, and encouraging active participation in church life,
balancing traditional and more creative approaches to worship and liturgy, so that St Paul’s, St Mary Magdalene’s, St Peter’s and St Anne’s are places where everyone feels welcomed and loved.
