We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Recovery Worker to join our team within an integrated healthcare framework. You will be supporting adults (18+) who are experiencing issues with drugs and/or alcohol, delivering a combination of psychosocial interventions and tailored treatment programmes.

Our services are client-centred, offering both harm reduction and abstinence-based approaches, depending on the individual’s needs. As a Recovery Worker, you will manage your own caseload, provide structured 1:1 and group interventions, and ensure each client receives the support they need to progress in their recovery journey.

Collaboration is at the heart of this role ,  you will work closely with housing, employment, healthcare, probation, and other partner services to provide holistic, through-care support and contribute to positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of clients, carrying out comprehensive assessments and developing SMART care plans
  • Deliver structured 1:1 sessions, group work, and treatment programmes
  • Provide harm reduction advice and guidance, tailored to individual client needs
  • Ensure continuity of care through partnership working with housing, healthcare, probation, CRCs, and other agencies
  • Contribute to meeting service and commissioner targets, with a focus on measurable outcomes
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusive practice across all services
  • Work flexibly, including occasional evenings/weekends and travel to other sites as required to ensure continuity of care

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience working within substance misuse services
  • Proven ability to carry out assessments, risk management plans, and design/implement SMART care plans
  • Experience delivering structured interventions and facilitating groups
  • Skilled in using motivational interviewing techniques in both 1:1 and group settings
  • Strong IT skills and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Understanding of holistic care needs, continuity of care, and community services
  • Experience promoting and supporting equality and diversity

Knowledge Required

  • Strong understanding of the issues faced by individuals with substance misuse problems
  • Knowledge of the Recovery Agenda
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
