Head of HR Operations FTC
Job Introduction
Turning Point is a leading health and social care provider committed to making a difference in people’s lives. We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Head of HR Operations to join our People Leadership Team during an exciting period of transformation.
This is a fixed-term contract for the duration of 18 months.
This is a Manchester based role, with usually one or two days a week in the office and the rest working from home and/or traveling to Turning Point sites as required.
Why this role?
This is a strategic leadership opportunity to backfill our substantive Head of HR Operations, who is being seconded to lead the implementation of our new HR Information System. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining and strengthening our HR operational foundations, with a strong emphasis on legal and regulatory compliance.
What you’ll lead:
- People Services– ensuring exceptional service delivery and process efficiency
- Payroll– overseeing accurate and timely processing of a complex and variable payroll
- Employee Relations– managing complex cases and ensuring fair, consistent practices
- Recruitment– leading strategies to attract high volume recruitment
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure robust compliance with employment law, regulatory requirements and internal governance standards
- Oversee risk management across HR operations, embedding strong controls and assurance processes
- Lead and inspire operational teams to deliver high-quality, efficient services that meet stakeholder expectations and give a good colleague and manager experience
- Drive process optimisation and continuous improvement, leveraging technology and automation where possible
- Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations cases, ensuring consistency and fairness
- Monitor and report on compliance, risk, and operational performance to senior stakeholders
About You:
- Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role within a complex organisation
- Deep knowledge of employment law, compliance frameworks and HR governance
- Strong track record in managing risk and resolving complex employee relations issues
- Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on operational leadership
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
