Handyperson DASU – £15.00 per hour – Zero Hour Contract – Wrexham/Flintshire
About the role
As our handyperson for Wrexham and Flintshire, you will be responsible for keeping our estate looking fantastic and in tip-top working condition. Our estate includes 2 offices, several refuges and other properties within Wrexham and Flintshire. The purpose of this role is to carry out general repairs acting as the main point of contact for all maintenance issues as and when required. This role does involve moving, lifting and bending. Your duties will also include general cleaning where required, sorting and organising storage as well as pick-up and delivery of items around the estate which includes loading and offloading.
You will be required on occasion to work in occupied properties, which are occupied by vulnerable clients. There is a need to always demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality.

Key responsibilities
- Minor electrical – rewiring, changing fuses, junction boxes etc.
- Minor plumbing and carpentry
- Equipment maintenance
- Painting and decorating
- Clearing gutters and minor roof repairs
- Changing filters on air conditioning systems
- Maintaining property exteriors through the different seasons
- Changing light bulbs and ensuring other fixtures and fittings are in good working order
- Clearing or cleaning general areas
- Moving furniture or equipment
- Assembling furniture or equipment
- Ability to complete risk assessments and flag up risks
About you
You will be a hard worker, used to rolling your sleeves up and getting on with the job at hand. You are looking for a long-term position and have a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude. You will be physically capable as heavy lifting as well as moving, bending, and stretching, are involved in the day to day role.
Ideally, you are an experienced Handyperson with the ability to multi-task and deal with a fast-paced and constantly changing work environment. You are efficient and organised with the ability to prioritise your own workload effectively. You must have a valid, clean UK driving licence and possess a reasonable level of English language. You will be flexible to work across 7 days as our business is open 7 days a week. Ultimately, you need to demonstrate a great eye for details and problem-solving skills providing cost effective solutions (short, mid and long term).
You will have a clean full driving licence, access to your own tools, and power tools and a vehicle for work use. You will be able to respond within 24 hrs of any request. An enhanced DBS check will be required by the successful applicant.
