OPERATIONAL AREA: West Midlands

LOCATION: This role will involve regular travel around the West Midlands and is flexible, it can be based at our Stoke, Tipton or Coventry office dependent on the candidates preference.

The Role

The Community Project Officer will be responsible for co-ordinating, promoting and administering this community focussed project.

Key Duties

  • Provide advice and guidance to community groups, charities and schools to help them apply for community grants and other funding opportunities. (Training will be provided)
  • Promote available funding through community networks, social media and local events.
  • Act as a key point of contact between funders and local groups.
  • Support the smooth running of the grants programme, maintaining records, coordinating panel meetings and helping to process reports and case studies.
  • As and when required support other Groundwork community projects such as play sessions, cookery clubs or green space improvements.

  • Practical skills to manage and deliver projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with funders and community groups.
  • Ability to work flexibly and learn new skills as you take on new challenges.
  • A commitment to supporting community groups with funding opportunities.

A full driving licence is essential and access to own vehicle for the role which entails travel to various sites around the region.
