Role: Chair of Development Board & TrusteeWhereEveryoneSticksTogetherWEST Youth Zone is seeking a new Trusteewho will: Use their personal/professional networks, influence, andfundraising or business development experience to opendoors and win financial support for WEST.Work alongside our Board and Leadership Team toprovide leadership and challenge around diverse streams of income generation.Location: White City, LondonWEST Youth Zone, named Where Everyone SticksTogether by local young people, opened in April 2024 - the15th Youth Zone in the OnSide network.  We are a purpose-built space fizzing with energy and crammed with incrediblefacilities. Staffed by talented, skilled and dedicated youthworkers who truly believe in young people, helping them seewhat they could achieve, and giving them the skills, confidenceand ambition to go for it.At WEST, we believe all young people in West Londonshould have the opportunity to discover their passion and theirpurpose and be able to explore where it can take them. We areopen 7 days a week, while schools are closed - that’s eveningsand weekends, plus all through the school holidays. We offer asafe and active space for young people to flourish in theirleisure time, where their interests can be nurtured, and they cangrow as individuals.West London is an area of wide disparities, with an acute needfor youth services. This vast difference between those living indifferent parts of our city can lead to radically different lifeoutcomes. The London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulhamrecognised this need and supported the build of the Youth Zonebut do not fund ongoing running costs. As a charity, wemanage a Patrons Programme and rely on mid/largescale corporate and private donations. These generousdonations have so far enabled over 55,000 visits to the YouthZone from young people from far and wide. We are committedto sustaining this year-round support, and ambitious to do evenmore. Extensive personal or professional networks in London with a willingness toactively use them to support WEST’s fundraising efforts. A passion for the positive contribution and role young people can play insociety given the right opportunities.Relationship building and networking: Act as a champion / ambassador forWEST, using your extensive personal or professional networks and influence tosolicit funding support and generate warm leads for WEST in line with WEST’svalues and strategic priorities.Set up and steer a new Development Board: Work with our new Chair andthe Head of Fundraising & Communications to set up and steer a DevelopmentBoard of external advisors who will support with new introductions to help usmeet our ambitious fundraising targets.Strategy and oversight: Contribute to the development, monitoring andevaluation of the fundraising strategy, ensuring alignment with the overallorganisational strategy and financial plans as well as supporting the CEO andHead of Fundraising and offering constructive challenge.Governance and compliance: Serve on WEST’s Board of Trustees as aDirector, working collaboratively to provide excellent governance of the charity.Follow guidance to ensure that fundraising activity is legally compliant, ethical, inline with the Code of Fundraising Practice and meets best practice.Monitoring and reporting: Help shape the Fundraising Team’s      regular reports to the Board, asking probing questions and      contributing to setting key performance indicators (KPIs) for      fundraising to help ensure to transparency      and accountability.POSITIVE ROLEMODEL TOYOUNG PEOPLEAMBITIOUS &MOTIVATEDVALUES-DRIVENKEY RESPONSIBILITIESPERSON SPECIFICATIONAPPLICATION PROCESS To apply, send your CV and a short supporting statement makingreference to the person specification to recruitment@westyouthzone.org Applications will close on       8 December 2025thA strong and visible passion and commitment to WEST, its strategicobjectives and cause.
