Specialist Mental Health Worker
Contract: Fixed term until March 2027Closing date: Flexible Interview date: TBC
We are looking for a Specialist Mental Health Worker to join our Leeds Sensory Service. This role is 30 hours per week providing one to one and group activities to improve sensory impaired people’s mental health.
The role includes the following duties:
- To be able to communicate effectively with service users who are profoundly Deaf sign language users, hard of hearing or those who are visually impaired or deafblind.
- To establish respectful, sensitive, professional relationships with service users, demonstrating awareness of the issues faced
- To complete assessment, support plans and risk assessments with service users
Some of the key skills and experience required for this role are:
- To have Mental health assessment skills including risk assessment and support plan
- To have the ability to provide emotional and practical support
- Experience of facilitating group, peer and self-advocacy sessions in the community.
