PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £31,800 – £41,800 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

JOB PURPOSE

Join the BBC World Service Audience Insight team to lead digital research and analytics that shape our global strategy. As a Digital Audience Senior Research Executive, you’ll deliver insights that drive editorial, product, and business decisions across BBC’s international platforms.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

  • Analyse digital performance across BBC’s global services using web and social analytics.
  • Lead research projects combining digital analytics with qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Design and maintain dashboards to disseminate insights efficiently.
  • Collaborate with data science teams on projects involving machine learning and NLP.
  • Support global teams with data-driven decision-making across editorial, product, and strategy.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Strong experience with web analytics tools (e.g. Piano Analytics, Google Analytics).
  • Proficiency in social media analytics tools (e.g. Emplifi, YouTube Analytics).
  • Have a good practical understanding of one or more data visualisation tool, such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Have a good practical understanding of one or more data scripting language, such as Python or SQL.
  • Understanding of digital media trends across global markets and platforms.

DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED

  • Experience working with data science teams on Machine Learning or Natural Language Processing projects.
  • Familiarity with research methodologies (e.g. surveys, focus groups, user testing).
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts (e.g. sampling, significance testing, regression).
  • Experience in international research or analytics outside UK/US audiences.
  • Passion for global news and current affairs.
