Bloxham School is seeking committed and enthusiastic individuals to join our Sports Coaching team in a Sports Coaching Support role. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about sport, youth development and contributing to a dynamic and purposeful school community.

The role will be zero hours for a fixed term until the end of June and primarily involves supporting our busy programme of Saturday coaching and fixtures, with potential for additional midweek coaching by agreement. It is ideally suited to those who enjoy working with young people, have strong coaching skills, and want to play an active part in school sport.

About the Role:

 As part of the Sports Coaching Support team, you will:

  • Assist with the delivery of the school’s sports coaching programme across a range of sports.
  • Support teams, coaches and pupils during fixtures, predominantly on Saturdays.
  • Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating strong personal standards and professionalism.
  • Attend whole-school and departmental INSET as required.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, supportive and inspiring sporting environment.

  About you:

 We are looking for individuals who are energetic, reliable and motivated, with a genuine passion for helping young athletes thrive.

Essential:

  • Educated to A Level or equivalent.
  • Experience in sports coaching.
  • Strong organisational and coaching skills.
  • Ability to motivate and manage groups of young people effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable:

  • Coaching qualifications in sports such as hockey, rugby, netball, tennis, badminton or cricket.
  • Experience managing pupils and parents in an educational setting.
  • Current First Aid at Work certificate.
  • Minibus driving qualification.

You will also bring:

  • A proactive and flexible approach.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children.
  • Punctuality and readiness to prepare sessions and equipment in advance.
