Hollybank Trust is a charity based in West and South Yorkshire and we are proud of our reputation for excellence over our rich history. Our mission statement is to provide education, residential care, plus a range of therapies and enrichment activities for children, young people and adults with profound and multiple disabilities. Ideally located for people living in Meltham, Honley, and Huddersfield, and with great public transport links, Rowan Court is a vibrant 15-bed residential service for adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities and complex needs. The service is lively, vibrant, and welcoming, and the staff team are supportive and always happy to share their knowledge and experience to ensure our adults get the best possible care. When you start your role at Hollybank, we will ask you to do 1 – 2 weeks of shifts on days so that you can get to know our adults better. This will allow you to work closely with them, and develop a deeper appreciation of their likes, dislikes, routines, and communication methods. You will then start your night time rota, which will include additional shadowing and training to ensure you are fully equipped with all the tools and knowledge you need! - Supporting adults to engage in meaningful activities.
- Supporting adults with their night-time routine, including personal care and bathing/showering.
- Keeping the home tidy and clean, and some laundry duties.
- Checking adults regularly throughout the night in line with their care plan.
- Ensuring each individuals’ care record is kept up to date and accurate.
- Team work and collaborative working.
- To be kind, confident, curious, and happy – our four #BeSomeone values.
- Be able to stay awake and alert overnight, as all of our night shifts are waking shifts.
- Be commited to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our adults.
- Have a can-do attitude and desire to work as a team.
- Have a positive attitude towards working with adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities, and physical disabilities.
- Make a decent brew (our adults take their tea and coffee very seriously!)
