Who we are:

The Grace Eyre Foundation is a charity based in Brighton & Hove and the wider Sussex community that has been working with people with a Learning Disability and autistic people since 1898. Our mission is to work towards being led by people with Learning Disabilities and autistic people to deliver high-quality housing, support and activities in their local communities. Brief outline of the role:

We are currently looking for a Support Worker to work in the Brighton and Hove area in one of our supported living services. We welcome applications from both experienced Support Workers and those new to the care sector.

Shifts will be a fixed 6 week rolling rota so you will always know what shifts you will be working

Your role will be to support people with learning disabilities and autism with day to day tasks in either our supported living service or out in in the community.

We support people with all aspects of their lives, such as daily living skills, medication, personal care and finances as well as accessing community activities. You will need to have good communication skills and just enjoy spending time with people.

We are looking for people who are patient, compassionate, understanding and able to use their own initiative.

It is a rewarding and varied role and one that really makes a difference to the lives of the people we support. It helps them to live a fulfilled life and achieve their goals and dreams with a little help from people who care.

No experience is necessary. You probably already have the skills and attributes you need to make a great Support Worker, but you will receive full training.

The people we support would like someone to support them who is kind, funny, likes going out in the community and has some experience of supporting people. We are looking for someone who is eager to get stuck in and become part of an amazing team.

One must be your most recent employer, however if you have not undertaken employed work before, a reference from voluntary work, educational facility or personal reference can be accepted.
