THE ROLE PROFILE Description of Service The purpose of the Footcare Agent service is to cut nails for those clients who fulfil the scheme criteria. Title of Role Freelance Footcare Agent – not an employee. Expectations of the Role ➢ To carry out the tasks within agreed guidelines and standards set by Age UK Milton Keynes. ➢ To record details of all visits and assessments and keep these records for six years. ➢ To prepare a clinical environment before, during and after each session as far as is possible in clients’ homes. ➢ To wear disposable gloves and a suitable tunic/apron at all times on client premises. ➢ Where it is unclear whether a client fulfils the service criteria to write to a client’s doctor and establish whether it is permissible to cut a client’s toenails before any work commences. ➢ Where possible to advise alternative services for those potential clients who are unsuitable for the service. ➢ To identify those clients who show a change in their foot condition and to advise them of the need to refer back to their G.P. or the podiatry service before further treatment can be offered. ➢ To ensure that Health and Safety legislation is complied with at all times. ➢ To provide evidence of Public Liability insurance on a regular basis and registration with Alliance or any other organisation regulated by the Professional Standards Authority. ➢ To evidence current Enhanced DBS status ➢ To attend (where possible), an annual team meeting with Age UK Milton Keynes.
