The Advonet Group is looking for a Day Opportunities Support Worker to join our friendly and dedicated Learning Disability team. This is a rewarding role supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and other support needs to achieve their goals, build independence, and take part in meaningful activities in Leeds and the surrounding area.

About the Role

As a Day Opportunities Support Worker, you will:

  • Plan and run engaging group and individual sessions in line with members’ interests and goals.
  • Support people to develop life skills such as cooking, shopping, and using public transport.
  • Enable participation in leisure activities such as cinema trips, bowling, or meals out.
  • Keep clear and accurate records including progress notes, one-page profiles, and risk assessments.
  • Promote equality, dignity, and respect in everything you do, ensuring members’ voices shape the service.
  • Work closely with colleagues, volunteers, and carers to create safe, inclusive, and fun opportunities.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about empowering people with learning disabilities and committed to person-centred support.
  • Experienced in supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, or similar support needs.
  • A great communicator who can adapt to different needs (Makaton knowledge a bonus but not essential).
  • Organised, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Confident using IT (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Zoom, Canva).
  • Knowledgeable about safeguarding, equality and diversity, and confidentiality.
