Migrant Health Improvement Worker – Sexual Health Focus
Are you passionate about health equity and empowering migrant communities?
Asha North Staffordshire is seeking a culturally competent and committed Migrant Health Improvement Worker to lead sexual health promotion efforts among migrants in North Staffordshire. This role focuses on HIV prevention and care, as well as broader sexual health awareness and access.
You’ll collaborate with local partners—including NHS sexual health teams—to ensure asylum seekers and refugees receive timely, dignified, and informed support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outreach and promotional sessions in migrant communities
- Facilitate culturally sensitive education sessions at the Asha Centre
- Coordinate events for World AIDS Day and National HIV Testing Week
- Develop and maintain referral pathways to local sexual health services
- Build trust with individuals facing healthcare barriers
- Advocate for inclusive, trauma-informed sexual health approaches
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience in community health promotion or public health
- Understands the challenges migrants face in accessing healthcare
- Is confident delivering group sessions and engaging diverse audiences
- Can work collaboratively with statutory and voluntary sector partners
- Is committed to equality, dignity, and culturally responsive practice
Salary
£14.35 per hour
