Introduction
The De La Warr Pavilion (DLWP) is a unique Grade 1-
listed 1930s modernist building – a centre for arts and
culture, on the coast in Bexhill on Sea.
DLWP is about to embark on an exciting new stage of its
story to deliver the An Icon For Everyone (Transforming
Heritage) Capital Project. By revealing, valuing and
sharing the architectural and social heritage of the
Pavilion we will ensure our place as a vibrant arts and
cultural hub for the south-east and beyond. Owned, and
well used, by local communities we will deliver
transformative experiences that build community,
creativity and skills and, in turn, develop opportunity and
growth for our region.

The Role
The De La Warr Pavilion is seeking an experienced
Data and Insights Manager to rationalise and optimise
DLWP's data for the purposes of audience growth and
income generation. The Manager will follow DLWP’s
Data and Insights Strategy (2025) and implement the
Data and Insights Action Plan (2025) to meet clear
audience development and income- generating goals.
Working towards a overall target of an increase in
revenue by £452,500 over three years (2026/2029),
individual income stream targets include the following:

Increase Members and Patrons (including
secondary spend) by 18% by 2027/28
Increase donations over the counter, by phone
and web sales by 20% per year
Increase earned (commercial) income by 5% per
year by 2027/28
Increased Mailing list sign ups by 10% year on
year
The Manager will take the lead on the continued
development of DLWP's engagement with our CRM and
Box Office system Spektrix including rationalising the
database, training, new tools and integrations, share up-
to-date data trends and knowledge, and implement
greater engagement with Audience Finder
segmentation. DLWP uses the Current Data platforms :
Spektrix, website and social media analytics,
transactional platforms including Shopify and Bleep and
audience survey platforms Illuminate, Culture Counts
and Survey Monkey.
The Manager will take the lead on ensuring that DLWP
meets its data requirements for key core and project
funders.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Deliver the Data and Insights Action Plan to grow
audiences, streamline the customer journey,
identify opportunities, grow income and support
organisational goals. These are responding to
targets and KPIs linked to the organisation
business plan (2025-28) and Capital Project.
The plan includes the following tasks:

Thorough cleansing of data on DLWP's Spektrix
system.
• Work with each department to bridge gaps in data
knowledge and skills and optimise data collection.
Working across departments to join up and
streamline data collection.
• Work across departments to help devise new
approaches to improve the customer journey, to
grow visitor numbers, subscribers, engagement
and followers across all digital platforms,
including DLWP website, social media platforms
and emails.
• Work with the Head of Marketing to help shape
marketing strategies that are informed by data
insights and lead on the strategic use of audience
segmentation and profiling in marketing
campaigns. This will include the optimisation of
emails via Dot Digital, focusing on customer
growth, retention and engagement through
targeted and creative content.
• Work with the Head of Development to grow
income through members and donors utilising
Spektrix functionality, to help meet fundraising
targets
• Work with the Box Office Manager to maximise
ticketing functionality and online sales
• Work with the Development Team, Heads of
Programme and key NLHF-funded Programme
and Evaluation Managers* to ensure that DLWP
meets its data requirements for key funders such
as Rother District Council, Arts Council England,
National Lottery Heritage Fund, Esmee Fairbairn
Foundation and other key/project funders . *NLHF

Investigate and integrate Al to support audience
segmentation, personalised communication, and
data-driven strategies.
• Keep up to date with all data gathering and AI
tools
• Work with the Executive assistant to create a
system to access data for all our reporting needs
• Within a small operational budget, identify and
lead on the installation of tools that will make the
customer journey more profitable and the
gathering of data more efficient and sustainable.
• Arrange training for departments to adopt best
practice for data gathering and management to
embed as part of their day to day operations.
• Work closely with the Digital R&D Manager (not
currently under contract) to provide data insights
and historical data to best optimise the new
website design and build for audience access and
income generation.
• Create quarterly reports for our Board of
Trustees, Senior Management Team and other
departments where appropriate.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
• A strategic thinker
• Expert knowledge and experience of working with
Spektrix
•
The ability to read, analyse and interpret data to
feed into organisational strategy
• Experience with data analysis and visualisation
tools

Familiarity with survey tools as named above
• Background in a cultural, heritage, or venue-
based organisation, focusing on audience
development and income generation.
• Proven ability to optimise ticketing systems, CRM
platforms, and online sales to drive audience
engagement and revenue.
• Awareness and understanding of Al tools and
their potential to improve data analysis, audience
insights, and operational efficiency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
to interpret data in an accessible way, both
internally and externally including easy-to-
understand reports and presentations

NOTES
The minimum working week for this post is 40 hours per
week and is based at the De La Warr Pavilion.
The job description is current at November 2025. It
