To help keep the kitchen running smoothly and create an enjoyable mealtime experience for the remarkable residents in our care, we’re looking for kitchen assistants who are reliable team players with a strong sense of pride in their work and a dedication to the wellbeing of our residents. We find that people who thrive in our kitchens show:
Teamwork & collaboration: Working closely with chefs, other kitchen assistants and the wider care staff team is key in delivering a seamless mealtime service. Knowing how to communicate clearly, provide support to others and stepping up to new challenges when needed is vital to this role.
Proactivity & reliability: Taking the initiative to always stay one step ahead of the game. This could be restocking ingredients, preparing items in advance, or resolving small issues before they become a larger problem. Being a member of the team people can consistently rely upon helps to create a supportive team environment.
Adaptability & resilience: Care home kitchens can be fast-paced at times. From making sure the chefs have all the ingredients they need, when they need them, to making sure meals get delivered to each resident on time – all while being flexible and calm under pressure.
Attention to detail: We aim to deliver high-quality, well-presented dishes to our residents, all day, everyday, so attention to detail is a must for our kitchen assistants. This includes making sure that dietary requirements are followed, meals are all presented beautifully and that strict health & hygiene standards are followed.
