About us

At Groundwork, we’re passionate about changing places and changing lives. As the UK’s leading regeneration charity, we work in partnership to create communities where people are proud to live and work.

Each year, our projects across the North East and Cumbria help local people gain skills, improve their environment, and strengthen their communities. Every day is different — but what stays the same is our commitment to making a positive impact.

About the role

We’re looking for a friendly, organised, and proactive Business Centre Administrator / Receptionist to be the welcoming face of The Greenhouse Business Centre.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves working with people and enjoys variety in their day. You’ll be the first point of contact for visitors, tenants, and customers — making sure everyone receives a warm welcome and professional service.

You’ll also play a vital part behind the scenes, supporting the Commercial Property Manager and the wider team with administration, bookings, and marketing to help the centre run smoothly and grow.

This role requires someone who enjoys being at the heart of a busy, community-focused environment — every day brings something new!

A bit about you

We’re looking for a confident communicator who’s as comfortable chatting to visitors as they are organising a busy schedule. You’ll thrive in a team environment, stay calm under pressure, and take pride in your work.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in reception, administration, or customer service roles.
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, email systems, social media).
  • Excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Confidence to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A positive, professional attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for helping others.

You’ll be part of a supportive, friendly team in a vibrant and sustainable business hub, where no two days are ever the same. You’ll gain valuable experience in customer service, administration, and property management — and know that your work contributes to something bigger: building stronger, greener communities.
