Director of the Cathedral Singers

Christ Church seeks to appoint a Director of the Cathedral Singers from 1 February 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter) to lead the Cathedral Singers as their musical director and principal conductor. The post-holder will contribute to the management of the choir and lead it in its range of performance activities.

The Director of Cathedral Singers will be responsible for directing the Cathedral Singers for all Cathedral services during Cathedral Singers Sessions, liaising with the voluntary librarians to maintain the upkeep of the Cathedral Singers’ music stock, and drawing up the annual music list in consultation with the Organist.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding choral conductor with a successful track record as a choir trainer, and a knowledgeable liturgical musician, familiar with a wide range of repertoire. The ability to demonstrate significant relevant professional experience, preferably gained in a cathedral or collegiate setting is essential.
