Deputy Lead Chaperone (Matilda The Musical) (1545)

Deputy Lead Chaperone opportunity to join the team at Matilda The Musical in London on a 12 month fixed term contract.

The appointed candidate would ideally start in late October 2025 

We are looking for an experienced Chaperone to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children in our care, making sure that they are properly supervised, have adequate meal breaks and sufficient rest and recreation. This position is offered as a full-time, fixed term contract for 12 months, we are also open to this role being carried out as a job share.

The Deputy Lead Chaperone will:

  • Work closely with and support the Children's Manager & Lead Chaperone.
  • Be responsible for escorting children to and from the stage during rehearsals and performances as well as working a plot side of stage.
  • Supervise, lead and manage the team of Chaperones.
  • Maintain accurate records and documents.

This is a rewarding role for a licenced Chaperone with significant experience of working with children, aged 9-13, in a professional theatre environment. It is helpful if you have West End show experience together with excellent communication skills and a commitment to working as a team.

All applicants must hold a current chaperone licence, and recent references will be requested.

Please note that Matilda The Musical performs a Tuesday to Sunday schedule, with matinees on Wednesdays and Saturdays and a mid-afternoon performance on a Sunday. There are comeback rehearsals on Tuesdays and Thursdays in a normal week.
