We are an independent local charity based in Bosham, Chichester offering a wide range of services to support our patients, and their loved ones, who are living with a life limiting or terminal illness. The work we do makes a real difference to the lives of local people and we support over 330 patients at any one time between our In Patient Unit and Community teams.

Being a Bank Van Driver at St Wilfrid’s

We are looking for someone to join our busy retail team as a Van Driver on a bank hours only contract. This role will involve:

Transporting items to and from the distribution centre, shops, recycling centres, our Hospice and private addresses, as required
Collecting and delivering items to and from our supporters (usually donations of furniture, clothing & bric a brac), including loading and unloading goods in a safe, timely and professional manner.
Completing all paperwork associated with deliveries including gift aid, collections and delivery procedures, vehicle checks as required
Ensuring the van is fuelled, clean and serviceable in accordance with agreed procedures
Weekend and Bank holiday work are required on occasion to support the 7 day/week retail operation

Qualifications and Experience

Full, clean driving licence is essential
Professional driving experience is desirable
Knowledge and interest in Charity retailing is desirable
Prior experience of two-person handling is desirable, as lifting and manoeuvring of heavy and bulky furniture is required in the role
Right to work in the UK
