Trinity College Cambridge is seeking to recruit a part-qualified Assistant Accountant. You will be responsible for supporting the Finance Manager, Finance Director and other Senior Accountants in producing financial reports throughout the year as well as statutory accounts. You will be responsible for several of the College’s bank accounts, ensuring that payments and purchases are allocated correctly with a particular emphasis on funds and trust funds. In addition you will liaise with, guide and support internal departments, Fellows, Committees and student societies advising on required financial information and accounting practices.

Applicants must be part-qualified/late finalist in an accounting qualification and have good experience of an accounts based role, including purchase ledger, cash book, reconciliations and journal entries. Knowledge and experience of working with accounting systems such as Oracle NetSuite would be preferable or the ability to adapt to using new systems. Knowledge and understanding of University/College accounts including trust funds, bursaries and student awards is desirable.

In-depth knowledge and experience of using Excel is essential with the ability to use formulae, pivot tables and spreadsheet formatting. In addition, you must have excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently but also be a strong team player, engage with and support other colleagues across the team as necessary, producing work to professional accounting standards is key.

The College will support the on-going training and development of the role holder to progress in their professional qualifications.
