Role Overview
As a Building Surveying Graduate within our Facilities Management team, you will support the effective management, maintenance, and improvement of our property portfolio. You’ll gain hands-on experience in building surveying, compliance, and project delivery, working closely with experienced professionals to develop your technical and commercial skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in the inspection, assessment, and reporting of building conditions across the estate.
• Support the planning and delivery of maintenance, refurbishment, and compliance projects.
• Contribute to the management of statutory compliance (e.g., fire safety, asbestos, water hygiene).
• Help prepare specifications, schedules of work, and tender documentation.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
• Maintain accurate records, drawings, and asset data using CAFM and other systems.
• Participate in risk assessments and ensure health & safety standards are met.
• Support sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives.
• Support the mobilisation and demobilisation of contracts, including expiry.
• Assist with the management of reactive and planned maintenance activities.
• Undertake professional development and training as part of your graduate pathway.
Qualifications & Experience
• Degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline (or due to graduate this year).
• Some work experience or placement in a property, construction, or FM environment (desirable but not essential).
Skills & Attributes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Organised, with good time management skills.
• IT literate (MS Office; experience with CAFM systems is a plus).
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally (e.g., towards RICS or IWFM accreditation).
