Are you passionate about food and community? We’re looking for a
Casual Kitchen/Pantry Assistantto join our friendly team at St Vincent’s Newcastle. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference by supporting our catering service and community projects.What you’ll do:- Prepare and serve simple hot and cold meals, drinks, sandwiches, and snacks.
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and food collections.
- Serve customers with a smile and support volunteers in the kitchen.
- Help deliver buffets, parties, and our weekly Cost of Living market.
- Support the smooth running of the Community Pantry and foodbank.
- Complete basic paperwork and follow food hygiene and health & safety standards.
- Previous catering and customer service experience.
- Good level of English and Maths.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and allergen awareness.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and work well in a team.
- Great organisational and communication skills.
- Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate.
- Emergency First Aid at Work.
- Experience in the voluntary sector.
