  • Are you passionate about food and community? We’re looking for a

    Casual Kitchen/Pantry Assistantto join our friendly team at St Vincent’s Newcastle. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference by supporting our catering service and community projects.What you’ll do:
    • Prepare and serve simple hot and cold meals, drinks, sandwiches, and snacks.
    • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
    • Assist with stock control, ordering, and food collections.
    • Serve customers with a smile and support volunteers in the kitchen.
    • Help deliver buffets, parties, and our weekly Cost of Living market.
    • Support the smooth running of the Community Pantry and foodbank.
    • Complete basic paperwork and follow food hygiene and health & safety standards.
    What we’re looking for:
    • Previous catering and customer service experience.
    • Good level of English and Maths.
    • Knowledge of food hygiene and allergen awareness.
    • Ability to stay calm under pressure and work well in a team.
    • Great organisational and communication skills.
    Desirable:
    • Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate.
    • Emergency First Aid at Work.
    • Experience in the voluntary sector.
