Role Title:  Safeguarding Co-ordinator, Titus Trust  (up to 0.4)

Role Purpose: To serve the trustees and camp groups by co-ordinating and leading on
safeguarding across the Trust.

Camp Group or Team: Centre/TT team

Location of Role: Flexible with majority being remote working and some in-person meetings.

Work Pattern: Extra hours would need to be worked during camps (Easter and July/early August)
and fewer at other times of year.

Salary: £32-35k (pro rata)

Responsibilities of the Role:

•  Ensuring that the Trust’s safeguarding policies and procedures are up to date: working with the

Safeguarding trustee and the ExecCom (senior staff) to review policies annually, to suggest updates in
line with wider developments/legal requirements and to ensure current policies are available as
required

•  Oversee safeguarding training across the Trust: maintaining training records, arranging trustee and staff

training and advising camp groups on leader training

•  Ensuring safer recruitment processes are in place & being followed for staff & leader recruiting which

includes acting as Lead Recruiter for DBS process

•  Manage safeguarding records: ensure all records are kept up to date including use of MyConcern

(online reporting system)

•  Acting as Safeguarding Co-ordinator/DSL for the Trust: responding to any safeguarding concerns raised

during the year and liaising as needed with statutory bodies

•  Easter/Summer camps: training volunteer camp DSLs & overseeing them during camp, acting as senior
safeguarding adviser during camps to respond to queries as they arise & maintaining an overview of
issues raised via MyConcern

•  Current legislation/safeguarding developments – working with our external advisers & our partners to

keep up to date with these and ensuring the Trust is implementing them as required.

•  ensure the Trust is kept up to date with current safeguarding developments

Qualification/Experience

•  experience of safeguarding in school, charity or church context is desirable
•  an understanding of the importance of safeguarding and commitment to it
•  experience of working in schools or of youth ministry is desirable
