COKETHORPE EDUCATIONAL TRUST LIMITED
Cokethorpe School
Full-time
5th January 2026

We are looking to appoint an IT Support Technician Apprentice as soon as possible to work with the IT Department to provide an effective and efficient IT support service to all staff and pupils.

IT Department
There are two staff members within the IT Department: the Head of IT Services and the Apprentice IT Support Technician. The IT Department provides technical support to users and provides a strong technology infrastructure (network, hardware, and software) for others to connect, interact and perform their daily functions. This would be an ideal opportunity for someone who is keen to develop their IT skills and experience in a busy but friendly educational environment. Training will be given, so experience is not essential for this role.

Apprenticeship
The Level Three qualification for Digital Service Technicians has been developed for apprentices wishing to develop their careers in the field of digital technical support. The digital support pathway focuses on helping external customers in the effective use and access of digital systems. Digital support technicians are trained to maximise an organisation’s effective use of digital office technologies, digital communications (including collaborative technologies), productivity software and digital information systems and to achieve its objectives. This Level Three qualification involves 20% off-the-job training and lasts for fifteen months.

To Apply
Interested candidates should submit electronically (as separate PDF documents in one email) the following to Mrs Sophie Crossley, Head of Human Resources, on recruitment@cokethorpe.org before the closing date.

  • A covering letter explaining your suitability for the role, addressed to Mr Richard Goodwin, Head of IT Services
  • A completed Cokethorpe School support staff application form.

Deadline for applications: Midday on Monday, 5 January 2026. Early applications are encouraged.
Interviews will take place w/c 12 January 2026. Interviews may take place before the closing date for suitable candidates.
Appointment Date: Lent Term 2026.

Terms of Appointment
Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed, and written documentation recorded. Any gaps in employment history will be fully investigated. Safer recruitment procedures are followed, and members of the Senior Management Team are accredited by the Oxfordshire Safeguarding Children Partnership/NSPCC for recruitment. Child protection awareness is an integral part of the induction programme for new members of staff. Following acceptance of an offer of appointment, a formal contract of employment will be drawn up. The following notes provide guidance, without prejudice, on the likely main provisions of the agreement.

Hours: Full-time 8.45am–5.15pm.
Salary: Competitive plus benefits.
