Talent Officer
(FTC until June 2026)

evidence-led training, we support local teacher
training providers, and we plug education leaders

The role

The rundown: Teach First’s Training Programme is one
of the UK’s largest teacher training providers and a highly-
regarded graduate scheme, consistently ranked top 15 in
The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers.

Programme Talent Officers source and support brilliant
talent to join our programmes. You’ll be assigned either a
portfolio of universities and/or recent graduate, young
professional or career changer talent pools, and will be
accountable for meeting a target volumes of hires. You’ll
deliver a great candidate experience, particularly focused
on innovative sourcing and effective post-offer contact.

Our Programme Talent Officers have the opportunity to
work in a truly hybrid way, as part of an org-wide culture
that embraces agile working. You’ll spend engaging days
at events, but also have real flexibility on how and where
else to deliver your best work.

The detail: day-to-day work

You’ll develop and bring to life your own strategy to
source, convert and cultivate great talent at within
your assigned portfolio/s, to meet your target
volumes of hires.

You’ll lead on a range of activities to source great
talent, including organising presentations, network-
ing events/workshops, headhunting, running
activations/installations, attending careers fairs, etc.

You’ll be the main point of contact for offer-holders,
guiding them through regular check-ins. We pride
ourselves on relationship-led recruitment, proactive-
ly addressing barriers early, and ensuring our
trainees are well-prepared to join our programmes.

You’ll build and maintain an active network of
stakeholders. This may include university careers
services, academic or alumni departments and
student societies, as well as vision aligned partners.

You’ll be given opportunity to trial new, innovative
approaches to recruitment, with a real focus on
diversity and inclusion across your work.

You’ll support the wider team’s success through
ongoing project work – e.g. developing your own
areas of expertise, leading training on them,
supporting with developing new processes, etc.

You’ll support with assessing at our development
centres during peak times, and flex to provide
additional support cross-directorate as needed.

You’ll take ownership for:

•  Meeting ambitious targets in a competitive market.
•  Setting a bespoke strategy for your portfolio.
•  Bringing this to life through consistently engaging,

memorable activities.

You’ll be passionate about working in recruitment,

You’ll have prior experience of successfully
working towards ambitious targets, able to
consistently motivate yourself to reach goals.

You’ll have proven experience of building and
maintaining relationships with a range of internal
and external stakeholders.

You’ll have prior experience of planning and
organising a full workload, confident in managing
your time well, with strong initiative and decision-
making abilities.

You’ll be able to overcome challenges and show
resilience during periods of difficulty, uncertainty or
change.

You’ll be a confident and clear communicator, with
experience of adapting your style and an ability to
gain commitment from different audiences.

You’ll have a strong working knowledge of student
and graduate recruitment in the UK, including our
key competitors.

You’ll have prior experience of event management
(planning, promotion, delivery and evaluation).

(who support Officers’ sourcing activities) and our

directorate - e.g. Selection, Admissions and School

academic departments, university societies.
