Job Title: Loan Coordinator.

Reports to: Credit Coordinator.

Location: Jarablus, Aleppo

Travel: frequent travel, 50% of your time.

The Near East Foundation (NEF) is seeking candidates for a Loan Coordinator position to be based in Jarablus, Aleppo. NEF is a non-profit international development organization that has supported livelihoods recovery and community-based economic development in the Middle East, Africa, and Caucasus since 1915. NEF draws on local teams, experience, and partnerships in these regions to create community-led solutions to improve livelihoods and local governance among conflict and crisis-affected groups, while maintaining neutrality and ensuring inclusiveness in our approach. Working through a network of country offices and local partners, NEF has operations in ten countries: Armenia, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Mali, Morocco, Palestine, Sudan, South Sudan, and Syria. Our programs are organized around three pillars: Inclusive Economic Development, Climate-resilient Development, and Stabilization and Peacebuilding.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement all activities related to financing loans and non-financial services to ensure that they proceed according to the approved plans.
  • Technical and professional management of the processes of studying loan applications and technical follow-up with team members.
  • Carrying out periodic field visits to supervise and verify the progress of work and the quality of implementation.
  • Technical coordination on the monthly work plan in coordination with the loan officers and the director of the center.
  • Develop visit plans in coordination with the center manager and cooperate with the loan officer
  • Coordinate with the credit team regarding the project objectives, challenges, and achievements.
  • Organizing and coordinating training for financial services related to the project.
  • Provide technical and operational support to lending officials and field teams.
  • Supervising the implementation of periodic capacity-building trainings for field assistants and loan officers.
  • Supervising the archiving of beneficiaries ' data and using tracking tools to follow them in financial activities.
  • Providing the necessary comprehensive information to the director of the Center for periodic reports related to the updates of the project and its various activities.
  • Planning and coordinating field visits in close cooperation with the director of the Siraj Center and the safety and logistics staff.
  • Follow up on cases of late payment, participate in collection efforts, and prepare relevant reports.
  • Monitoring the performance of the loan portfolio and reporting on any developments or risks that may affect it.
  • Follow up on the job performance of its employees and provide feedback and development proposals.
  • Ensuring compliance with lending policies and procedures and laws adopted within the institution.
  • Perform any other related tasks assigned to him by the credit team or management.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A university degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or any related specialty.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field of microcredit, microfinance, or economic project management.
  • Experience in managing field teams and supervising operational activities.
  • Good knowledge of lending systems, financial portfolio management, and customer verification procedures.
  • High skills in planning, coordination, and reporting.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and make decisions based on performance indicators.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and Word.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and partners.
  • Commitment to business ethics, transparency, and confidentiality in dealing with financial data and sensitive information.
  • English language proficiency is an added advantage.
