Events Officer

Teach First is a charity that believes education is the
most powerful tool to help a child fulfil their potential.
We find and train teachers to work in the schools that
need them most, we equip school leaders with
evidence-led training, we support local teacher
training providers, and we plug education leaders
into supportive professional networks. We are a

The role

The rundown: The Events Team is responsible for the large-
scale delivery of all Teach First’s Events. We deliver high-quality
events to support the recruitment and delivery of our pro-
grammes, helping us to support our fundraising targets, and
support our Networks and staff training events

As Events Officer you will deliver an exceptional customer
experience across a suite of on-line and in-person events and
activities at national and local level.

The detail: day-to-day work

Managing and coordinating a portfolio of on-line and in
person events and activities across Teach First

Implementing communication, culture and engagement
strategies across your events including the management
of email communications, handbooks and joining
instructions for online events. Support reasonable
adjustments for your events and the provision of
information provided via portals such as MyTeachFirst.

Engaging with suppliers and external partners to enable

effective delivery of events acting as first point of contact
for any issues or escalations.

Managing event resourcing plans and ensuring contin-
gency plans are in place and implemented.

Providing on the ground / virtual presence and point of
contact at all events in your portfolio including events and
activities that might take place in evenings or at week-
ends.

Monitor the recording of attendance and engagement and
support the evaluation of a portfolio of events

Support improvement projects and the development of
best practice in the delivery of multi-programme events
and activities.

Working with colleagues commissioning events to clarify
event requirements for your portfolio of events. Planning
events, activities and communications that are effective
and engaging influencing where necessary to ensure that
best practices are identified and adhered to.

Developing strong and effective relationships with
suppliers and external partners.. End to end delivery of
events, activities and engagement strategies in your
portfolio.

Ensuring all events that are delivered comply with our
obligations and policies with respect to equality diversity
and inclusion and child and adult safeguarding.

Effective record keeping, compliance with and continuous
improvement of event policies and processes including
the delivery of our D&I plans Completing mandatory
training and reading our child and adult safeguarding and
GDPR policies and guidance.

executing events, contributing to their successful

You show an understanding of project management

You demonstrate the ability to effectively manage
relationships, aiding in the cultivation and maintenance
of positive connections with stakeholders and collabora-
tors.

You have a background in events, which ensures a
positive and attendee-focused approach, enhancing
satisfaction and communication.

Your skills contribute to effective participant engage-
ment and communication strategies, enhancing overall
event success.

You have prior experience in using CRM and completing
event management tasks, contributing to accurate
record keeping.
