ROLE DESCRIPTION
VOLUNTEER TRAINEE COUNTRYSIDE RANGER

TITLE:

Volunteer Trainee Countryside Ranger – Occombe

REPORTS TO:

Ranger Team Leader

SALARY:

Voluntary

4 days per week for 9-12 months

PRIMARY ROLE:

Free basic accommodation is provided and there is a budget for relevant
training.

The main focus will be on carrying out practical habitat management
across a wide variety of our sites. Some of the key work areas include
limestone grassland management, scrub clearance and woodland
management in the winter. Coast path cutting and footpath
maintenance in the summer. You will also get involved with site patrols,
boardwalk repairs, fencing and livestock checks.

WHAT WE OFFER

•  Free on site accommodation including bills ( excl TV licence)
•  Training budget to spend on external courses of choice but must

include First Aid and Brushcutter courses

•  Full mentorship throughout your placement from an experienced
member  of  staff  guiding  you  through  your  professional
development,including 1:1’s and a reference for future employers
•  Working in a supportive environment alongside other long-term

volunteers

•  Networking  opportunities  within  the  organisation,  partner
organisations and other organisations that work within the same
sector.
