Cynthia Spencer Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people living with life-limiting illnesses in West Northamptonshire. As Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity, we support the Hospice, ensuring they have the vital funds necessary to cover their care. With a newly appointed CEO we are on an exciting journey of raising additional funds for Hospice care.
About the role
We have very recently opened our very first Reuse Charity Shop at Sixfields in partnership with FCC Environment.
This is an exciting commercial venture for us, and we are now seeking an experienced and enthusiastic retail manager/leader to lead the team of paid staff and volunteers to maximise sales, deliver excellent customer service, and to support our charitable aim.
This is a fantastic opportunity to combine your retail management skills with a role that supports sustainability and raises vital funds for our Hospice Charity.
Key responsibilities:
- Effectively manage day-to-day operations of the shop, including staffing, stock processing, receiving donations, merchandising and layout.
- Build effective relationships with FCC site management and our van driver.
- Achieve income and profitability targets and maximise financial contributions to the charity.
- Recruit, train and develop the team including the Assistant Manager.
- Maintain shop presentation, compliance, health & safety and brand/charity standards.
- Engage with the local community, build strong relationships and professionally represent the charity.
Skills and experience:
- Retail management experience with a track record of management responsibilities.
- Strong leadership, ability to work with and lead a team of staff and volunteers.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commercial acumen, good organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Ability to manage income targets with a strong target-driven approach.
