We transform lives by providing practical, emotional and financial support to those who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage and social isolation.

About the service
This post is being offered as part of a pilot project in partnership with Bolton CVS. The project aims to offer a learning and experience opportunity to people who are currently not in paid employment, who have not been seeking work within the last 4 weeks and/or are unable to start work within the next 2 weeks. This can include:
• Full time students
• Employment Support Allowance, Incapacity Benefit, Income Support claimants
• Universal Credit claimants who are placed in the work preparation requirement or work-focused interview requirement conditionality groups
• People not in receipt of benefits
• People who are distant from the labour market and need additional support, skills and/or confidence to enable them to move towards employment
• People in receipt of state pensions

The aim of the project is to offer work experience, skills development and build confidence.
This work placement will offer the opportunity to develop skills in customer service and administration

Main Responsibilities:
• Answer the telephone and respond to queries:
o Give information about the BAND service
o Record information for self-referrals
o Record and pass on messages for staff member
• Send information about the service via post or e-mail as required
• Record interactions with existing service users on our database
• Support the administration of group support by:
• Recording attendance
• Booking speakers
• Researching activities and days out as required
• Undertake other general administration duties as required
• Demonstrate a commitment to learning and personal development
• Engage actively in supervision
• Demonstrate a commitment to Co-production approaches and principles
• Comply with Family Action’s Safeguarding policies and procedures

• An interest in working in an office environment.
• Understanding of mental health and its impact on day to day living
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good organisational skills
• Good IT skills
