About the role
EIA investigates and campaigns against environmental crime and abuse to protect our planet. We focus on the protection of wildlife, forests, oceans and climate and turn the evidence we gather in the field into hard-hitting reports targeted at authorities who can make a difference, and campaign for new legislation, improved governance and effective enforcement. And we need you to help us do this!

We are seeking an enthusiastic team player, with experience of managing social media channels across both paid and organic social media activity. You will have excellent written and creative skills and have flawless attention to detail. You should be brilliant with people and be able to build relationships internally with colleagues as well as external partners with the drive and flair to deliver significant results.
This role will manage the fundraising and marketing activity on EIA’s social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube and Bluesky) on a day-to-day basis and lead on the planning and delivery of EIA’s strategic social media activity. This includes the planning, developing and creation of engaging and dynamic content, and fundraising and marketing campaigns both paid and organic, to increase the reach and engagement.
Responsibilities
The Social Media & Digital Engagement Manager, along with the Head of Fundraising and Marketing, will develop and implement the social media strategy to increase brand awareness and engagement, and play a key role in developing integrated, multi-channel fundraising and marketing campaigns.
- Lead on managing our organic social media activity across our social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube and Bluesky) to grow the follower base and increase engagement with individuals and funders.
- Plan, create and develop engaging and dynamic social media content to promote the work of the charity and our impact
- Lead on the development and delivery of paid social media marketing campaigns, with the aim of acquiring new followers and supporters
- Develop and deliver strategies through social media, predominantly LinkedIn, to increase brand awareness of EIA and raise our profile with funders, High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI), researchers and advisors
- Take a key role in the planning, development and implementation of fundraising appeals to ensure they are optimised for a digital audience
- Work closely with fundraising and marketing colleagues, the Communications team, and wider colleagues to identify and maximise opportunities to engage the public to increase our reach and engagement and trigger supporter actions.
- Deliver both proactive and monthly analytics and reporting that can be used to inform the social strategy and make recommendations for optimising content by channel and audience.
- Ensure all social media content meets Brand and Tone of Voice guidelines.
Monitor, respond and signpost our social media inbox accounts and questions we receive over social media in a timely and sensitive manner.
