IPS Team Manager
Job Introduction
Locations: Central Hub Brunswick Square, North Greenway Community Centre, South Symes Community Centre. The IPS team manager will be assigned to one of the above hubs but expected to work across all our Bristol premises as required.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our new Bristol service, Horizons to set up a specialist employment team using the Individual Placement & Support (IPS) model. This service is a vibrant new partnership delivering substance use treatment and recovery services across Bristol. Turning Point has partnered with Bristol Drugs Project to ensure continued local expertise whilst championing a fresh approach, alongside seven other local and national providers: The Nelson Trust, Hawkspring, One 25, Southmead Development Trust, Southmead Project, Wellspring Settlement, and Release.
Our partnership draws upon decades of experience delivering substance use services in Bristol and nationally, with specialist knowledge around diverse local communities, and the community insight which only comes from hyper-localism.
As IPS Team Manager you’ll have the chance to make a real difference to the lives of the people we support who are experiencing difficulties from drug and alcohol use, leading a team to work with them to help them find employment.
As a IPS Team Manager, we offer a starting salary of £35,490 rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, rising to £41,518 per year. (Dependent on experience you may be offered a starting salary above the initial starting salary).
Role Responsibility
As IPS Team Leader in Horizons Bristol service, you will manage a team of employment specialists workers holding caseloads of substance using clients in treatment who would like help to find employment.
You will have experience in the delivery of specialist employment services and a passion for making a difference to the lives of the people we support. Partnership working will play an important role in your day-today work and you will have experience in building and maintaining excellent relationships with local organisations/employers to support the work of your team. Internally you will work closely with other managers and staff from teams across the Horizons service, and the wider Bristol substance use system, to ensure the IPS service is fully integrated into the service and is receiving necessary volumes if referrals.
The Ideal Candidate
- Essential Requirements
- Proven track record in delivery of employment services
- In depth knowledge of IPS service delivery
- Experience of supervising a team or, if new to management, supporting, mentoring or coaching colleagues/volunteers;
- Experience of working towards achieving individual and team objectives
- Numeracy, literacy and IT skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills, and ability to adapt communication to suit the audience, e.g. service users, commissioners or staff
- Good time management and able to work to deadlines
- A participative leadership and management style in normal circumstances
- In depth knowledge and understanding of the complex and multiple disadvantage faced by people using substances
- A demonstrable commitment to a values-led approach to working with service users with a substance use issue.
