We are looking for a Sound and Video Resources Technician (Workshop Specialism) to join the National Theatre Sound and Video Team on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract.

The Sound & Video Resources Technician provides consistent technical support to the National Theatre.

This role is primarily based around activities within the Sound & Video Workshops on the Southbank although it will involve working on events, within the recording studios and at our other sites on The Cut and at Bermondsey as necessary.

The role would suit someone who has a wide-ranging knowledge of sound & video, with great personal skills as well as technical knowledge.

The successful candidate will have the following: 

  • Experience in a theatre, hire-shop or warehouse preparing equipment to a given brief.
  • Ability to manufacture and repair cabling and panel work to a high standard.
  • The ability to repair sound & video equipment, to a component level where appropriate.
  • Experience of operating basic sound & video systems for events.
  • Sound editing and recording experience.
