Location: Brimscombe, Stroud
Salary: £22,932 (pro rata for 15 hours/week)
Holidays: 25 days plus statutory pro rata
Pension: Auto-enrolment (6% employer contribution)

Are you passionate about supporting people in their recovery journey? Do you want to help others achieve lasting change? The Nelson Trust is seeking a Trainee Group Facilitator to join our dedicated team, delivering high-quality group interventions in a residential rehabilitation setting.

As a Trainee Group Facilitator, you’ll deliver group interventions, prepare materials, and keep sessions focused and engaging. You’ll build trust, encourage participation, and maintain clear communication. Flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to ongoing development are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver group interventions as per the treatment timetable
  • Prepare materials and ensure smooth running of each session
  • Build relationships quickly and effectively within group settings
  • Administer medication (training provided) and maintain accurate records
  • Communicate regularly with the support team and counsellors
  • Contribute to service development and data reporting
  • Uphold The Nelson Trust’s values, policies, and professional standards

Experience & Skills:

  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures
  • Group facilitation skills and experience motivating clients
  • Experience in residential addiction treatment or voluntary sector (desirable)
  • Ability to produce accurate reports and liaise professionally with service users
  • Trauma-informed approach and understanding of substance misuse (desirable)
  • IT and administrative skills
  • Motivational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Full clean driving licence (essential)

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2 or above in Health & Social Care (desirable; training provided)
  • First Aid and medication administration certificates (desirable; training provided)
  • Group facilitation and trauma-informed communication training (provided)
