Lead SBGB’s Community Department, driving stakeholder engagement, inclusive participation, and strategic growth. Oversee EDI integration, adaptive skateboarding, and education outreach. Manage team development, budgets, and cross-organisational collaboration. Champion diversity through action plans and partnerships. Contribute to senior leadership, aligning all initiatives with SBGB’s values and long-term vision.

About Head of Community

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Community Department within SBGB
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders in community sport who want to engage with skateboarding, ensuring that the culture of the sport is central to any delivery or participation activations.
  • Work with key partners (such as Active Partnerships, Youth Sport Trust and others) to identify opportunities for growth and increase the level of participation, including developing and planning engagement initiatives.
  • Manage team members as relevant, supporting their development and contribution, and ensuring adherence to all SBGB policies and procedures.
  • Lead on equality, diversity and inclusion, ensuring EDI is integrated into SBGB strategy and practice.
  • Oversee and lead on SBGB's Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan and Diversity and Inclusion Action Group
  • Lead on developing an Adaptive Skateboarding strategic plan.
  • Lead on developing Skateboard GB's strategic plan for engaging with education including schools, colleges and higher education.
  • Work with colleagues and key stakeholders across all areas of SBGB to ensure EDI initiatives are embedded across the whole of the organisation and best practice is widely shared and communicated.
  • Manage the budget for all Community Department activities
  • Take an active role in the strategic management of the organisation as a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), leading by example in delivering our values.
  • Support and lead on other tasks as required by the business and in consideration of your skills, knowledge, and experience.
