Head of Fundraising & Marketing

Job Summary
St Teresa’s Hospice, Darlington is seeking a Head of Fundraising & Marketing
to lead our Income Generation Team.

We are looking for a driven and passionate individual to be responsible for the effective leadership and management
of our fundraising and marketing functions.

Location: St Teresa’s Hospice, The Woodlands, Woodland Road, Darlington, DL3 7UA

Hours: We are ideally seeking a full-time candidate for 37.5 hours per week; usual working pattern Monday to
Friday, 9am to 5pm.

We are open to considering part-time applications for a minimum of 22.5 hours per week over 3 days.

You will need to flexibly outside of normal working hours on occasion, as required to facilitate and attend events,
including evening and weekend working.

St Teresa’s Hospice Band 7: Starting salary £40,879 per annum (pro-rata for part-time candidates).

Salary range for role, subject to ongoing professional development: £40,879 - £51,650 per annum, pro rata.

Main duties of the job:
We are a forward thinking, inclusive registered Charity with Inpatient, Outpatient and Hospice at Home services,
providing care and support to palliative patients and their families in their own homes and at St Teresa’s Hospice.

The Head of Fundraising and Marketing is part of the Hospice’s leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief
Executive.  This post is responsible for the effective management and operation of the following functions and for
leading the team to achieve financial targets:

Individual giving (including cash appeals, regular giving, in memoriam giving and legacies)


  Corporate partnerships
  Events and community fundraising
  Trusts and grants
  Marketing and communications

Essential and desirable qualifications, skills and experience include:

  Relevant professional qualifications at Level 6 or above or equivalent experience

  Knowledge of charitable income generation methods and marketing techniques, relevant fundraising

regulations and best practice

  Experience of team leadership at a senior level, with experience of delivering income generation and

marketing objectives

  Able to travel for work using own transport, and to drive Hospice vehicles
